A pump is used to transport fluids or gases by conveying energy to them. This may be achieved by increasing the speed or pressure of the transported medium. Pumps exist in many different types and dimensions. To name but a few: turbopumps, screw pumps, gear pumps, vacuum pumps and water jet pumps. These pumps have MPC hose clamps in them that resist fluid hammers well. Wormdrive clamps and superclamps are robust and also resistant to high pressure, thanks to which they are perfectly suitable for use in pumps.
